A
Active-X

Alias
Means: pseudonym. To refer to alternative e-mail address. For example: the address  marketing@websitehouse.net would be an alias of myname@websitehouse.net

Integrated Services Digital Network, digital phone system that let you send and receive voice and data simultaneously through the phone line. 
ISP
Internet Service Provider, company that provides access to the internet.

MIME
Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions, method to link binary codes with the e-mail.
Modem
MOdulador/DEModulador, this is the hardware that lets you to use the phone line to be connected to the internet. It converts digital pulses into audio frequencies (analog) and vice versa. 
MPEG
Motion Pictures Experts Group, system of audio and video file compression. 
MP3
Abbreviation of Layer-3 Mpeg, system of audio file compression.

Message area, structured by subjects making part of Usenet. 
NFS
Network File System, allow to use files from long distance machines. 
NIS
Network Information System, service used by Unix administrators to manage database distributed through the network.
